The toughest weather ive ever encountered

Well i shouldn't have complained too much about the windy day yesterday, as overnight we had thunderstorms that i have never experienced before. Especially not camping. Kai was scared during the night and ended up joining us in our bed. We woke up to heavy rains and wind and had to try and pack up in it. Both Ange and I got absolutely soaked packing up. And to end it all we nearly lost the trailer on a downhill slope as we span it around to hitch up to the car. I was stuck holding the handbrake on, but couldn't move it up at all. A couple of guys ran over from a nearby site to help drag it to a safe spot. Because of the rain the jockey wheel was just digging holes whenever we tried to move it.

I had the luxury of having a hot shower and some dry clothes before we left, because we had planned that i would get wet in the packup. Ange was not meant to get wet, but did anyway. She was cold for the whole day wearing wet jeans.

We drove to Newcastle to reminisce about a time long gone and had lunch at a Lone Star restaurant. Have to say that we are more than disappointed at how the place has gone downhill. Without having the country music playing and the cowboy crap all over the walls we would have thought we were some place else altogether.

We pushed on towards Dubbo, and being a 5 or so hour drive, we picked out a roadside stop to pull up for the night. The highway between Newcastle and Dubbo is a much easier way to travel through the dividing range, especially with a camper. It is really a scenic drive. We arrived at our stop at about 5:30pm, pulled out the camper and had tea. In bed at about 8:30pm.

Haven't got any photos as it was too wet today!
